Chapter Meeting:

This Month's Speaker: Jiffy Page & David McDonough

Topic: Photos 101 – Client Photo Tips for the Professional Organizer

Everyone has photos. Often organizers are asked to help clients with their photos. What tips can organizers give their clients about managing their photo collections, either digital or tangible or both?

Jiffy and David, each with decades of experience working with individuals and their photo collections, will share their own approaches, ideas and tips and, most importantly, answer YOUR questions.

Jiffy Page - FOUNDER, CEO

Combining words and images to tell stories has been both my profession and my vocation.  Hurricane Katrina’s destruction of so much family history led me to create Pixorium in 2006. At that time I also learned of the research showing that “adolescents who know more family history show higher self-esteem…(and a) high er sense of self-efficacy….” Saving and sharing family stories truly matters, as well as being what I love to do!

David McDonough

David McDonough started Modern Image in New Orleans 2007 after losing the family photos to Hurricane Katrina. He saw businesses close due to the loss of paper files. It highlighted the importance of creating a secure and safe family archive that tells your family story and business Disaster Readiness planning. Modern Image has been working with families since that time to help convert photos, slides, VHS, Beta, 8mm….any type of film format. They‘ve even scanned a bowling ball! He has an IT consulting background, so he can help navigate confusing technical landscapes. He is helping a software company develop archival software that uses AI to organize and auto-tag archival material to help businesses and families store and share their media.

David has 2 kids and sadly no more dogs… Miles is in the Navy, stationed in Germany and Berkeley is in Oxford, MS. He has been a member of NAPO GA since 2013 as Librarian and 2019 as Business Partner Director and he was on the team that developed the NAPO GA website (so if you get stuck – ask him for help!) He is a Director with BNI and will gladly help with that type of networking, if you are curious. He has an MBA from Tulane and a BA from Georgia. He is recently certified as a Scuba Instructor and in January became a Grandfather!!
