Topic: Who is a Compulsive Shopper?

Description:  Before COVID, we hit the Perfect Storm, a confluence of factors encouraging more and more consumerism. And then COVID took it to a whole new level when the need to escape fear, gain control, escape, and adapt made it worse.  Compulsive shopping has been called the "smiled upon addiction" because it's lurking beneath the surface, not recognized like alcoholism or drug addiction, yet causing shame among overshoppers. Shopping has become a coping mechanism for an emotion(s) an individual just can't bear. This presentation will discuss the human needs we try to fill, healthier alternatives you might assist your client in finding, behaviors that would indicate an overshopper, and the true damage that may be lurking below the surface.

This month's speaker is:  Carrie Rattle

Carrie is a Financial Therapist/Coach for professional women.

In addition to her financial accreditations and experience as a finance executive, Carrie trained with Psychotherapist Olivia Mellan, a money psychology pioneer and critically acclaimed author hosted on Oprah and other nationwide media.

Carrie further trained with published author, Psychologist Dr. April Benson who helped overshoppers for decades. Carrie bought Dr. Benson’s business and her proven program during COVID and serves overshoppers nationwide.

Carrie has delivered keynote speeches, and has been quoted in media such as CNBC, CBC, NextAdvisor | TIME, USA Today, Glamour Magazine and others.

She resides with her husband and two little bunnies with big personalities.
