The February 8 Roundtable Will cover Donating and Selling Options. We have a pretty comprehensive list of donation sites in Atlanta, and will ask members to add to the list. In addition, Dave Radcliffe from MaxSold will share his personal knowledge of successful selling using a variety of methods, and he will update us on MaxSold and how they reward and promote organizers who connect them to clients and sales.
This month's speaker is: Dr. Pati Beaudoin
Topic: Judgement and Non-Judgment in Professional Organizing
There may not be another career more demanding of non-judgement than professional organizing. Even in therapy, people don't face someone looking into the interiors of their actual closets! Professional organizers have a paradoxical task: they need to be sensitive to the client's concerns about judgement, and at the same time they need to be clear and forthright about the process of transforming untidiness and clutter into functional space. This talk will focus on developing an intuitive sense of the difference between conveying judgement and discernment to clients.
Dr. Pati Beaudoin has been a psychologist for over 30 years in the US and Canada. In that capacity she has taught hypnosis and other forms of advanced psychotherapy in the US, Europe, Canada, and Central and South America. She has also consulted to the Center for Human Development in Atlanta, NYPD's Division of Internal Affairs, and to the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health. Pati is the creator of the Authentic Forgiveness Protocol, which is designed to help people shift from anger and hurt to peace. In her capacity as a trainer, she has produced several films and is the author of Letter to Husbands From a Wife, the Authentic Forgiveness Protocol Manual, The Mindful Weight Loss Manual, and is currently at work on her next book, Compassion, Judgement, and Authentic Forgiveness. She has served in leadership roles for several professional organizations, including the Georgia Psychology Association and the Georgia Hypnosis Society. She now practices in Ontario, Canada, where she works with individuals and facilitates groups focused on identifying and stopping the Inner Judge. Pati also teaches meditation in the US, Canada, and Nicaragua.
